Updates for 2009!
Look for new faces, new products, new services, and new activities! With the Christmas season in full swing, we're making plans to stay active and stay warm through the new year. As we are busting out our own calenders, we thought we'd let you in on some of the things to put on your own.
1. Start checking out our blog for the "Artist of the Month"! The first weekend of every month, we will highlight one of our treasured 'in-house' artists. Paintings, prints, photos, chocolates, soaps, pins, earrings, mugs, purses, cheese, etc.! If it's original, it's game. If it's handmade, it's game, If it's yummy, it's game. This will be a chance for everyone to learn and better understand the process each artist goes through to create the work we love. Look for our first artist on January 8, 2009.
2. Tea of the Month: If you don't know already, we have an Artemis 'Tea of the Month' Club. Once you're a member, we send out yummy teas to you on the 15th of every month. Call us if you're interested in signing up yourself or a friend. Like the 'Artist of the Month', we'll provide you with an update on the tea we've chosen to give some extra attention.
3. We've added a face to our Artemis family! (as well as our 'family' family).
Her name is Audrey, and she's great. Stop by to welcome her and to say 'hello'. [Photo by Angela Davis. See more at: angelaphoto.blogspot.com - angeladavisphotography.com].

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
The Weston Merchants participate in a window display contest every year. We are working on ours!
This years theme is 'Songs of the Season' and each store will be choosing a Christmas song to help construct their display.
"Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!"
Print Show!
On Saturday, November 8, 2008, we hung a new print show. The printmakers from Truman State University have selected a wide variety of art styles in a well assembled framework. Stop by to see us in the next couple of weeks to get your pick.
These hand-made prints would make great Christmas gifts-- for yourself, your friends or your spouse.

Concert in the Garden
August 2008 was a beautiful month with beautiful weather and wonderful music. Jessie Witherell came to visit and graced us with her moody music:

Brendan Loula played a set to open. Here are some photos from the evening.
Creamery Opening at Green Dirt Farm-- July 2008
The Artemis blog has been slacking off, but Artemis activities have continued to grow. We are making connections with local producers and local artists as well as offering concerts and activities in the garden. The next posts will attempt to catch you up on our whereabouts during the past few months. Check 'em out!

Ecology Day at Artemis
Working with Kathy Moody/Parents as Teachers , Jill Loveless/Evelyn Bliss Lewis Preschool, and Lisa Carter/A Day in the Park Daycare, we designed a community event for Preschool aged children to teach them about planting wild flowers, composting, coloring, having fun, etc.
